Arctic Frost was the vehicle by which partisan FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors could improperly investigate the entire Republican political apparatus.

- Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa)

Worse than Watergate

Jack Smith’s failed election case against President Trump began at the Biden Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) under the codename “Arctic Frost.”

The Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) was out to get President Trump. But that’s not all.

Chairman Grassley’s oversight has revealed that hundreds of Republicans were targeted as part of the Arctic Frost investigation – including over a dozen members of Congress and 400+ Republican organizations and individuals.

Based on the evidence to-date, Arctic Frost and related weaponization by federal law enforcement under Biden was arguably worse than Watergate.

The Evolution and Expansion of Arctic Frost

February 14, 2022:

FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) Timothy Thibault sends a draft Arctic Frost opening electronic communication to subordinate FBI agents, including subordinate Special Agent Michelle Ball. Chairman Grassley's office was told that she and Special Agent Jamie Garman were handpicked by Thibault to work on Arctic Frost in order for Thibault to conceal his role as a case initiating agent. This action violated the FBI’s no self-approval rule.

February 22, 2022:

Thibault provides update that he’s working to get DOJ and FBI HQ to approve a case on the Trump campaign et al "for conspiring to defraud the US Govt via the elector case."

The email makes clear the case will be assigned to CR-15, the dismantled FBI Washington Field Office public corruption unit, and discusses putting a team together, including Special Agent Michelle Ball, as well as adding Special Agent Jamie Garman because "her background as an [Assistant U.S. Attorney] will be particularly helpful."

February 24, 2022:

Thibault emails John Crabb, a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, saying, “I had a discussion with the case team and we believe there to be predication to include former President of the United States Donald J. Trump as a predicated subject.”

July 18, 2022:

Chairman Grassley writes to Attorney General Garland and Director Wray to amplify whistleblower concerns "about a pattern of clear political partisanship by Thibault as well as other senior FBI and Justice Department officials." Grassley’s letter also references Thibault’s openly partisan conduct on social media. This marked the formal start of Grassley’s investigation into Arctic Frost.

"[T]he information I have received reveals that Thibault’s political partisanship…impacted his official decision-making on sensitive public corruption investigations… Thibault's partisanship likely affected investigations briefed to, and approved by, senior Justice Department and FBI officials."
