Grassley Statement on Passing of Deputy U.S. Marshal Christopher D. Hill

WASHINGTON – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley today released the following statement on the death of Deputy United States Marshal Christopher David Hill. Hill was killed in the line of duty today while executing an arrest warrant in Harrisburg, Penn., for a fugitive who had made terroristic threats.

“Deputy Hill’s dedicated and diligent service to his fellow Americans has made our country a safer place. His family, friends and the entire United States Marshals Service community will be in my prayers as they cope with this loss. The Marshals Service is burdened with a dangerous job: apprehending some of the most dangerous fugitives in the country so they can’t inflict any further harm. It’s an important job and I’m deeply grateful for the men and women who undertake it, as Deputy Hill bravely did.”
