Graham Urges Declassification of Key Documents in FISA Abuse Investigation

WASHINGTON – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) sent a letter to Attorney General William Barr urging him to work with Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz on declassifying key materials related to the FISA abuse investigation.

According to Inspector General Horowitz, his investigation of DOJ and FBI’s conduct during the FISA warrant process as it relates to the 2016 presidential election is nearing completion.

“In order for the Inspector General to be able to present the most complete results of his investigation to Congress and the American people, certain documents will need to be declassified and released to the public,” wrote Graham.

“I write to urge you to declassify all documents the Inspector General identifies as appropriate for declassification as much as possible, without harming national security.”
