Feinstein on Planned Parenthood Withdrawal from Title X

Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement on Planned Parenthood’s announcement that it was leaving the Title X family planning program as a direct result of a new Trump administration rule:

“I regret very much that this administration has effectively forced Planned Parenthood out of the Title X family planning program.

“Planned Parenthood provides essential health care services to more than 1.5 million low-income women in the United States. In many rural communities and communities of color, Planned Parenthood is the only affordable health care provider.

“It’s unacceptable that this administration has decided to ban health care providers that serve our most vulnerable populations from discussing abortion care and from giving referrals to patients who seek that care. A woman’s health care decisions should be left to her and her doctor, not politicians.”
