Graham Statement on HHS Rule to Protect Religious Freedom

WASHINGTON – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today made this statement on the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) final conscience rule to protect individuals and health care organizations from discrimination if they do not provide services that conflict with religious beliefs.

“I very much appreciate HHS for finalizing this rule that protects religious freedom.

“This decision will be a great relief to millions of Americans who do not want to be forced to take actions that violate strongly held religious beliefs.”
