Feinstein on Attorney General Barr’s Mueller Report Letter

Washington—Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.) released the following statement on Attorney General Barr’s March 29 letter regarding the Mueller report:

“I received Attorney General Barr’s letter late this afternoon. I’m pleased that he committed to a public release of Special Counsel Mueller’s report and wholeheartedly agreed that everyone should have a chance to read it.

“The attorney general said that he’s willing to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 1. With a nearly 400-page report, it’s imperative that he meets the mid-April deadline and Congress receives the entire report, appendices and underlying documentation no later than April 15 to be ready for that hearing.

“Also, even if parts of the report are redacted from the public, the committees should receive those portions, including any classified information, as is routine.

“I look forward to reviewing Special Counsel Mueller’s extensive findings, his analysis and the reasons for his conclusions. As I’ve said all along, this report is of great significance and it is critical that Congress and the American people get to see it and judge the facts for themselves.”
