Assistant Attorney General Derek Anthony West was nominated by President Obama on September 19, 2012 to be Associate Attorney General.  On January 3, 2013, the nomination was returned to the President under the provisions of Senate Rule XXXI, paragraph 6 of the Standing Rules of the Senate. On January 22, 2013, President Obama again nominated Derek Anthony West to be Associate Attorney General.
