Commissioner Cranston Mitchell was confirmed on August 7, 2009, for a term of six years.  On July 28, 2009, the Judiciary Committee reported the nomination to the Senate.


Commissioner J. Patricia Wilson Smoot was confirmed on September 16, 2010, for a term of six years.  On July 20, 2010, the Judiciary Committee reported the nomination to the Senate.


Commissioner Charles T. Massarone was confirmed May 24, 2012 for a term of six years. On May 24, 2012, the Judiciary Committee reported the nomination to the Senate.

Did You Know?  Harlan Fiske Stone was the first Supreme Court nominee to testify at a Supreme Court confirmation hearing in 1925.  John Harlan was only the fourth nominee to testify (1955).  Harlan's 1955 confirmation marked the beginning of the current practice of each Supreme Court nominee testifying before the Judiciary Committee.
